Sports diplomacy is an increasingly important aspect of diplomatic practice and a growing part of the global sports industry.

The main objective of this research is therefore to determine the role of sports diplomacy in the pursuit of the national interest of Africa in general and Kenya in particular.

By examining and analyzing the role of sports diplomacy in promoting Africa's regional interests and achieving Kenya's national interest in its external relations.

The study proved that mathematical diplomacy can be used in pursuit of national interest and that mathematical diplomacy can be seen as part of state identity building.

The study also found that image-building through sporting diplomacy was an effective strategy aimed at changing Kenya's negative stereotype and attracting investors, while at the same time placing it as a regional leader.
