Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the nature of the relationship between emotional intelligence and marital compatibility of a sample of couples in the state of M’sila, by clarifying and highlighting the critical importance of the emotional intelligence variable in daily life and its contributions to achieving compatibility between couples, which may help to bring a compatible marital life in our society, that can be a positive reflect on both family members and society, The study focused on revealing both the level of emotional intelligence and marital compatibility through the use of the study tools, Schutte’s scale of Emotional Intelligence (2010) and Graham Spanier’s scale of Marital Compatibility (1976), after applying the two scales to a sample of 120 individual (60 couples), whom were selected in the intentionally, after collecting data and verifying their nature (linear relationship and normality of distribution) the study hypotheses were processed using the Statistical Package of Social Science Program (SPSS V25), and To achieve the objectives of the study we relied on the descriptive approach with the correlational nature in accordance with the objectives of the study, and after testing the hypotheses statistically the following results were reached: -1 There is a statistically significant correlation between emotional intelligence and marital compatibility in a sample of couples in the state of M’sila.
