Abstract EN

This study aims at examining the relationship between social media addiction and personal and family adjustment among University student.

It also aims at identifying whether there are statistically significant differences in social media addiction, personal and family adjustment due to the following variables: gender, specialization.

The sample of this research was consisted of (174) male and female students from Oran2 University.

To meet research goal, the researcher used descriptive method and developed three scales for data collection.

After analyzing the data using the statistical packages for social sciences program (SPSS) version 20, the results of study show that there is a negative statistically significant correlation between social media addiction with both personal and family adjustment among University student.

In addition, there are statistically significant differences between male and female in personal adjustment in favor of females.

The results also indicate that there are no statistically significant differences regarding the social media addiction, personal and family adjustment according to specialization.
