Evaluation is every activity that aims to analyze and interpret results of a measurement in order to make decisions and, moreover, to give value to a result in light of a standard, law or criterion so that this result can be placed in a frame of reference based mainly on the data from docimology, which is the scientific study of exams.

After applying the "LMD" system and its practices including; continuous evaluation of knowledge and acquisitions, that are organized in semesters through educational units, that are considered the basis of pedagogical organization by combining various materials and standards in one semester, we are referred to an explanatory methodological reference through which we try to dive into the criteria of assessing the students’ knowledge acquisition and diagnosing the reality of the whole exams and its hidden and apparent function.

The absolute reliance on exams method as the only way to measure the efficiency of cognitive achievement among students at the university, whether it is written or oral and the resulting judgments that are represented in a list of penalties – exclusion scores - or a list of rewards - the good score- , reflects the dominance of the traditional authoritarianism based model and the deviation of the professors from the didactic contract concluded explicitly or implicitly with the students in order to motivate them to seek knowledge.

To demonstrate this, we will discuss in this article first, how the score of the evaluation process is calculated, and whether it is merited or attributed arbitrarily without paying attention to the learner’s acquisitions, and second whether t is used to reconsider the educational process and correct its course because the university evaluation system is constantly in need of a permanent review, at the level of organization or at the level of practice and application, in order to adapt it to the structural and functional transformations marking the university institutions.
