Abstract EN

The relation between breast cancer and emotional life becomes almost an uncontested topic.

Many studies have proved the role of emotions in the appearance and accentuation of several diseases, such as cancer.

However, researches about strategies of emotional regulation in the field of health and pathology and psychooncology are limited.

This leads us to focus on the impact of these strategies on the quality of life of breast cancer patients and their partners, being the first to provide care to them, in order to investigate the impact of emotional organization strategies which are; Cognitive reevaluation and expressive repression, on the adaptation of women with breast cancer, and their husbands' adaptation to their illness, in terms of quality of life in general, and its psychological dimension in particular, for both.

This objective is achieved by using the descriptive statistical approach and through a statistical APIM model study.

The tools used in the study, after studying its reliability and validity, are: Gross and John's Emotional Regulation Scale (ERQ), and SF-12 Quality of Life Scale.

The tools were used with a sample of 30 couples.

The Findings concluded that the cognitive re-evaluation of women with breast cancer predicts a good psychological quality of life for themselves, and for their husbands.

While the strategies used by the husbands does not affect the quality of life of the patients.
