Abstract EN

This research aims to explore the translation approaches adopted by the United Nations as an institutional translation in the translation of its documents, using the critical analytical method, and Newmark's theory (1981) in semantic and communicative approaches, and his model of translation procedures to analyze the translation of one of its important documents "The Sustainable Development Goals 2030" into Arabic, and looking at the extent to which these approaches and procedures have maintained the content of the message and accurately conveyed its meanings.

The results indicated that the semantic approach plus literal translation procedure was adopted by the organization in translating the document, which successfully produced an identical translation to the original document formally and semantically.
