Abstract EN

Maritime transport is one of the main pillars of international transport, which provides economies of scale and low cost related to the movement of goods and services across countries.

It contributes more than 80% to international trade activity.

This study aimed to highlight the reality of container transport through Algerian ports by highlighting the efforts made by the Algerian authorities in providing for this type transport, as well as tracking its evolution in the period 2010- 2018.

The study concluded that the Algerian state has entered into several partnership agreements with foreign investors, which reflected positively on increasing the efficiency of Algerian port activities, but they are still weak and require further improvement and development to raise then to international standards, which allows them to achieve international competitive advantage.

Le transport maritime est l’un des principaux piliers du transport international en raison de ses économies d’échelle et de son faible coût liés à la circulation des biens et services entre les pays, contribuant à plus de 80% de l’activité commerciale internationale, et l’étude visait à mettre en évidence la réalité du transport par conteneurs à travers les ports algériens, en soulignant les efforts des autorités algériennes pour fournir les exigences de ce type de transport en suivant le secteur au cours de la période (2010-2018).

L’étude a révélé que l’Etat algérien a conclu plusieurs accords de partenariat avec des investisseurs étrangers, qui ont eu un impact positif sur l’augmentation de l’efficacité des activités portuaires algériennes, mais qu’il reste faible et nécessite davantage d’amélioration et de développement pour les élever aux normes internationales, leur permettant d’obtenir un avantage concurrentiel international.
