Abstract EN

This study aims to determine the situation of Algeria's bank liquidity during the period (2002-2016), it is based on the analysis of the gap between the collected deposits and loans granted and to study the behaviour of independent factors controlling them, it also aims to present the Bank of Algeria's policy in the regulation of bank liquidity.

It deduced that bank's liquidity changed due to its high correlation with oil prices, as it witnessed a stage of structural surplus due to improved oil revenues.

But the Bank of Algeria managed to control it using traditional monetary policy instruments and fine tuning policy, However, it also witnessed a phase in which the surplus turned towards deficit as the oil prices deteriorated, nevertheless the Bank of Algeria has been able to restore stability of bank liquidity.
