Abstract EN

The study aims to find out the reflection of the economic conditions for Arab countries on their financial markets.

A sample of Arab countries was selected; Algeria, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman in a period from 2005 to 2017.

To achieve the objective of this study, the technology of Panel Data was based, considering that is the most appropriate to address this data that includes the objective dimension (Capital market, money supply, government spending, GDP, domestic savings and inflation), The individual dimension (Arab countries), Also the time dimension (2005-2017).

The study showed that there are constant individual differences in the economic conditions of the Arab countries on the performance of their financial markets.

Due to the economic specificities of each country and the priority of the financial sector and its importance for them, where it was divided into two groups; the first group includes the exchanges their countries characterize by financial surplus and economic freedom (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar), the second group includes the exchanges their countries characterize by financial deficit and economic freedom (Oman, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Sudan), and a bourses which their countries gave the primary role to the public sector in the economic activity (Algeria).
