Our contemporary world is characterized by a steady increase in the sources of information and a limited human resources to benefit from its contents.

Documentary analysis is therefore necessary to help reduce the distance between the evergrowing sources of information and our ever-increasing need for specialized knowledge.

This article aims to propose an overview of the Documentary Analysis Method.

Firstly, it considers its diverse meanings and theoritical approaches.

Then it focus on its practical analytical steps and stages procedures.

Finally, the article argues that this practical procedures can be completed by some linguistical and psychological dimensions.
