Abstract EN

The problem of translation teaching as a tool to teach and learn foreign languages has occupied many specialists in the field of foreign languages' didactics.

All of those specialists know the methods used before to teach these languages, as they know the importance of translation in each of these methods.

Our study subject aims at shedding light again on the role and impact that translation could play to enhance the scriptural competence of second year students Bachelor degree in English language.

All that, via the ability of this module to detect and to analyze the errors committed by these students.

Through an analytical study of students' answers translating an Arabic text into English, we have recognized the efficiency of error analysis to diagnose and categorize students' errors.

In addition to the possibility of setting a fixed syllabus of translation which serves the categories of errors being analyzed.
