Rhetoric has become linked, according to the argumentative perception of many Arab rhetoricians, to persuasion.

Its function is no longer limited to the ornamental function, but its become according to these rhetoricians, a contextual event whose sole concerns are the persuasive effectiveness of the speech, its objectives and its productivity.

In this article, we attempt to reveal the contributions of Abdul Qahir al-Jarjani and Abu Yacoub al-Sakaki to show this effectiveness, focusing on the theory of "rhetorical inference" as a rhetorical process combining both mental and emotional persuasion, to reveal the argumentative function of rhetorical forms.
