Abstract EN

The study deals with Factor Analysis of crimes against self in Sudan (1989 - 2007).

The problem concentrates on the development of the styles of crimes which complicate the task of the decision maker combat crimes, so the variables of the crime must be classified, interpreted and simplified to use Factor Analysis instead of the original factors by studying the factors that affect crimes.

The problem is summarized in the following question: what is the most important factor that affects crimes against self? The study uses secondary data about crime in Sudan in the period (1989 - 2007) obtained from the General Administration of the Central Investigations of the Ministry of Interior Affairs.

The study concentrates on defining the most important factors of self crimes by using factor analysis which is one of many approaches to analyze different variables to reduce the content of the correlations so as to interpret* and describe co-variance of many variables by using small number of random and unseen variables, which are called (Factors).

analysis revealed that: The self crimes in decending order arc: harmfulness crime, terorism, murder and attempting homtied.

There are two main factors that affect the self crimcs: murder and terorism.
