A corollary to the ontological torment and social ills that contemporary human beings are experiencing would be to ask the same question one more time : why Carl Schmitt today ? Thus, everyone is seeking peace.

At what cost, though ? Schmitt is a strong advocate for a powerful (dominant / authoritative) State.

Indeed, he draws from two streams of thought : the Hobbesian political theory and the religious tradition whose values translate the spirit of Absoluteness.

Due to such proclivity, Schmitt has been subject to vehement criticism and serious accusations.

Some, for instance, point to Schmitt's accountability for the Nazi regime.

The very same proclivity, however, has brought him some fierce defenders : people who share his views irrespective of the accusations generally attached to him, namely his anti-Semitism and his defense of Nazism.

A la suite des problèmes ontologiques et les maux sociaux que l'homme contemporain vit, il est nécessaire de reposer la question sur la nécessité d'étudier Carl Schmitt actuellement.

Ainsi, tout le monde cherche à avoir la paix.

Mais à quel prix? Schmitt pense fonder un Etat fort.

En effet, il fait allusion à deux courants de pensée: la théorie politique hobbesienne d'une part et la tradition religieuse - vue l'ensemble des concepts teintés par l'absoluité - d'autre part.

C'est une ambition qui le met face à plusieurs critiques.

Il y a ceux qui accusent Schmitt d'être responsable du régime nazi et ceux qui défendent son point de vue en niant les accusations concernant son antisémitisme et la défense du nazisme.
