Abstract EN

T his study attempted to clarify the term cohesion, and identify its concept in the ancient Arabic criticism.

To that end, I addressed cohesion in lexicons.

Then traced the contexts of its use in the old Arabian criticism, namely: the context of verbal wording, the context of style, smooth and easy speech, the context of phonemic composi tion, the context of compose, the context of speech cohesion and in terconnection, and the general literary azimuth.

After observing and demonstrating these contexts, I studied cohesion, which is located between the adjacent or parallel terms in the critical legacy.

We chose four of those terms: composition, alignment, weaving, and formulate.
