Abstract EN

This study deals with the origins of the term (Image) and its development in modern Arab literary criticism at the level of concept and verbal formulas, by following the progress of this term in modern Arab studies since the emergence of modern Arab literary criticism at the end of the nineteenth century, until the beginning of the twenty-first century, dealing with the following formulas : ( Al-bayan / Rhetorical image ), (poetic imagination), (photography / Sensory image), (Metaphor), (Literary image), (poetic image), (Artistic image), and (Narrative image), revealing the role The reception, literary, cultural, and philosophical backgrounds of Arab critics, in the emergence of this formulation and conceptual development.
