Abstract EN

Planning the educational services is considered an important aspects of city planning, and considered a serious step towards urban development.

This research to scope to plan educational services in Warka city for the academic year 2016/2017 Using GIS technology through a number of educational indicators by comparing them with planning criteria to determine the degree of efficiency of these services, and to disclosure the positives and shortcomings in order to develop current and future development plan, aiming the advancement of the educational situation.

This research divided into four sections ,the first scoped to study the educational situation in Warka's city, and the lack of educational buildings and teaching staff and people has been emerged , the second section devoted to the spatial distribution of educational services in the study area which the unfairness of distribution to the level of residential neighborhoods has emerged, The third section was devoted to the study of educational indicators and comparing them with the planning criteria.

It was found that despite the availability of educational institutions and their compatibility with the current population size, most of the quantitative and qualitative standards did not reach the required levels, Accordingly, the fourth section was devoted to set a plan for (Educational services development) based on criteria and population size, as well as to determine the best sites and the least effort and cost, which will have the effect in supporting the planners to achieve urban development in the study area
