Abstract EN

This study aims at explaining luxury and luxurious people in the Holy Quran which states clearly that luxury has dangerous consequences that spoil individuals and societies.

The study is divided into an introduction, four chapters and a conclusion.

The introduction includes the significance of the study, the reasons of selecting the topic, the objectives of the study, the research methodology and the research plan.Chapter one discusses the concept of luxury and the luxurious people in the Holy Quran.

It clarifies the concept of the luxury in the Quran and Arabic language, the meaning of the luxury in Arabic language, its meanings in the Holy Quran, and the relationship between luxury and other terms.Chapter two shows the features of the luxurious people which have been mentioned in the Holy Quran such as: polytheism, injustice and criminality, the length of hope, fear and cowardice, instability in the scourges, arrogance and boast.Chapter three explains the luxurious people’s attitude towards messengers and prophets such as unbelief in messengers and prophets, argument , controversy disagreeing with the prophet Mohammed and opposing him, unbelieving in the hereafter, and following fathers and grandfathers' beliefs.

Chapter four deals with the consequences of the luxury that have been mentioned in the Holy Quran which are: spread of immorality and obscenities, the destruction of nations and communities and negligence of worships.

The conclusion includes the findings of this research.
