Abstract EN

Electricity consumption at the level of local communities contributes to the increase in the volume of public spending, as in 2017, at the municipal level, it reached 4801 megawatts, equivalent to 8 % of the volume of national consumption, with a financial value of 27 billion centimes.

In this context, and since 2011, Algeria launched a new program called the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Program, through which the state seeks to enable municipalities to achieve an energy economy of up to 10 million tons of oil equivalent within the year 2030.

The study aims to demonstrate the role of the renewable energies program and the energy efficiency in rationalizing the expenses of electricity for municipalities in Algeria, and the study found that the implementation of this program will achieve an economy in electric power estimated at 144 mw per hour, with a financial profit of 720 thousand DZ per yea.
