الوقف و الابتداء بين الكفاءتين النحوية و التداولية من خلال علل الوقوف للسجاوندي (ت560ه)‎

Abstract EN

This research paper is entitled “Pause and Starting between the Syntactic and Pragmatic Competences through Sajawandi's ʿIlal al-Wuqūf (Reasons of the Stops) (d.560 AH)”.

This study aims at explaining the functional and communicative role played by a pause and starting in understanding the Qur'anic text through performance.

This role cannot be manifested only by syntactic competence; it should be supplemented by pragmatic and communicative competencies, including intent, context, and phonological factors such as toning and others.

Following that analytical descriptive approach, the research found that Sajawandi had these two competencies: Grammatical, communicative interactivity by taking care of intent and location, since he refused to accept positions and begun in accordance with the language rules stipulated but does not agree with intent and maqam, and introduced non-linguistic factors such as hypnosis.
