Abstract EN

The study aimed to depict educational dimensions in talk shows presented in the sports satellite channels from the perspectives of the study sample, identify their reasons of watching these talk shows presented in the Egyptian sports satellite channels and to identify rates and types of the sample's exposure to these channels.

The study used the sample survey approach.

The study conducted the questionnaire as a research instrument.

The study sample was 400 of 4th male university students who watch the Egyptian sports satellite channels programms, who practice sports activities or not.

The sample was selected using purposive quota technique from faculties of Damietta University.

The quota was according to their presence in each faculty; either theoretical or practical, the theoretical faculties are (Commerce- Arts- Education), the practical faculties are (Sciences- Agriculture- Applied Arts- Specific Education- Physical Education).

The findings revealed that the sample individuals watch the sports channels as follows: Always at 78.95%, Sometimes at 20%; the value of "sport spirit" came first among the aesthetic dimensions at 84.75%, followed by "violence & rioting avoidance" at 81%, then loyalty and belongingness to homeland at 81.50%.

"With Afifi" programmer came first at 10.83, followed by "Time Out" at 10.33% and "Masaa' Al- Anwar" came third at 9.67%.

The study found statistically significant relationship between motives of watching talk shows and the nature of the faculty.

Spearman's correlation values suggested a direct relationship between the faculty nature and motives, there are statistically significant differences among education dimensions presented in talk shows on the sports satellite channels and the faculty nature.

The study also found statistically significant relationship between watching motives and place of birth.

Spearman's correlation values also suggested a direct relationship between place of birth and watching motives; except motive of addressing sports issues and events from different points of views, there is no effect of place of birth on this motive between rural and urban.
