شهد المغرب القديم تفاعل حضاري لاعتبارات عديدة أهمها موقعه الجغرافي الاستراتيجي الذي مكنه من أن يكون نقطة التقاء بين مختلف الأجناس وثقافاتهم، وهذا ساهم في تعدد المنشآت التعليمية وظهور نخبة من المفكرين ساهموا بدورهم في إرساء نهضة علمية وعملوا على توفير آلياتها، وتعتبر المكتبات أهمها.
تواجدت المكتبات في إفريقيا منذ فترة قرطاج، حيث كانت لهذه الأخيرة مكتبة هامة منحت مؤلفاتها لملوك نوميديا بعد تدميرها باعتبارها تخصهم تاريخيا وجغرافيا، وهو ما يؤكد امتلاك هؤلاء الملوك بدورهم لمكتبات خاصة ستودع بها هذه الكتب مع مؤلفاتهم؛ لأنه من المعروف عنهم أن أغلبهم مثقفين مثل هيمبسال ويوبا ولهم الكثير من الكتابات بالإضافة إلى كتب اقتنوها من أماكن أخرى، وهذا الشغف العلمي توارثته الأجيال اللاحقة كان المغرب القديم مسرحا للعلوم والثقافات وهو تحت وطأة الاحتلال الروماني أيضا فشهد الكثير من المؤسسات الثقافية خاصة المكتبات التي دلت على وجودها الأبحاث الأثرية والمصادر الأدبية.
Abstract EN
Libraries exist in the ancient Maghreb since the reign of carthage, where it had an important library which was attributed to the kings of Numidia after the fall of carthage, which confirms that these kings have private libraries to deposit these books and their writings, knowing that most of them are intellectuals and that they have many writings in addition to acquired books.
other places and this scientific passion inherited from the following generations was the ancient Maghreb the theater of science and culture during the roman occupation and witnessed many cultural institutions, especially libraries, which indicated their existence of archaeological research, and i will try here to list these libraries and to extract the few that the sources have even indicated.
