Abstract EN

This research handles orientalism in the Balkan area which includes Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and other states which geographically mediate the distance between the East and the West.

Therefore, those states gained an overarching importance and location to embrace cultures and divine religions prior to Islam such as Judaism and Christianity.

Accordingly, this area has attracted the attention of orientalists.

Shortly after its spread in Europe in the first century of Hijrah, Islam has been introduced to this area something that has turned those states, their cultures and documents into a target for the war machine with its hostile spirit against Muslims and Islam.

Hence, oriental institutes, such as Sarajevo and Belgrade Oriental Institutes, have appeared.

Balkan orientalism has been characterized by being closely related to the culture of oriental peoples.

The research at hand has found out that Muslim scholars have faced a lot of aggression and their moderate schools have also received a lot of violent attacks that damaged their books and burned their libraries.

The research has also found out that Balkan orientalism seems like Russian orientalism since they intersect across many points due to the short distance separating them.

By the end of the research, the researcher recommends to study the scientific output of the Balkan orientalists regardless of their orientation.

He also recommends that efforts should be exerted to criticize the scientific output of the imposters as well as focusing attention on criticizing the books of the orientalists and their views of Islam because of their intrigues and suspicions against Muslims and Islam.

Their books should also be translated and refuted to show the seriousness of their views and the arbitrary judgments which they have propagated in their books.
