The research takes on the traits of the political novel through the novel “The Sun Went Down and the Moon Would not appear” by Ihsan Abdel Quddous and the political side depends on how some events of the novel intersected with real events.

The novelist made sure to present some real events that the reader knows; moreover, how the characters are similar to real characters.

The research also takes on the novelist's clear opinion in his political analysis and making sure that the reader is convinced with his point of view.

The technical side, however, highlights the role of the narrator and how he plays an essential role; in addition to language and the representation of characters through describing, narration and sometimes conversation.

In addition, the narrator takes on time through the tools of recalling, anticipation, and analytical pauses.

The research also takes on place as it looks at two places that create a paradox in the novel since the novel starts with one and ends with the other.

The research concluded that many political novels fall in the trap of having a very clear opinion; this is due to the prevalence of political opinion and its urgency to appear.

What distinguishes the political novel is some political analysis, which the writer does not like to write directly in an article, as if the reader and writer have agreed on this narrative form to present political analysis.
