The purpose of this article is to identify to what extent the changes in the configuration of the organization of the European automotive industry, tinted by the relocation of car manufacturers from the mainly Western European automobile producer countries to countries of Central and Eastern Europe over the past two decades, has impacted the level of trade balance in automotive components of Western European countries during the same period.
