Studies on the stomach parasite fauna of donkeys (equus asinus)‎

The present study was carried out to evaluate the infection rates, num-bers of stomach parasites, some morphological criteria of the identified parasites as well as the pathological lesions produced among donkeys at necropsy.

In this study the overall prevalence of the gastric parasites among donkeys is 90.7% and the most prevalent species is Gasteroph-ilus species (69.4%) followed by Habronema species (35.2%).

Gaster-ophilus intestinalis and Gasterophilus nasalis as well as Habronema muscae, Habronema megastoma and Habronema microstoma were recorded in this study.

The morphological criteria and the associated pathological lesion of the fore mentioned parasites are completely studied and discussed.
