Morphological studies on horse-dog strain of echinococcus granulosus in some laboratory animals

This investigation was conducted to study the development of Echino-coccus granulose of equine origin in experimentally infected dogs.

Postmortem examination was carried out on equines in the National Cairo Circus.

Macroscopically examination was performed on different organs specially lungs and liver.

Lungs and liver infested with hydrated cyst noticed in a horse were carried out in a polyethylene sac to the laboratory and examined for the viability of protoscoleces.

Infection of dogs with viable protoscoleces was performed.

Dogs were slaughtered at different ages post infestation.

Morphological examination of recovered different stages of Echinococcus granulizes was studied.
