Oil price fluctuations and employment in Algeria

The present study aims to analysis the relationship between oil price fluctuations and employment level in Algerian economy by taking annual data covering the period 1985 to 2017.

We use the Vector Autoregression analysis followed by impulse response functions, variation decomposition and Granger causality test.

Our results confirm that there is a strong and positive relationship between employment, increasing oil price and economic growth in Algeria.
