The research aims to study the reality of agricultural crops in Diyala Governorate in 2016.

The areas cultivated with different agricultural crops in 2016 were studied.

The size of these areas was about 7074000 dunums of the total size of arable lands.

The agricultural crops were divided into three agricultural types in addition to livestock breeding.

The cultivated areas in these types varied between the administrative units in the governorate.

This spatial variability was due to natural and human factors that were referred to in the research body.

The study depended on the data of the Directorate of Agriculture of Diyala concerning the cultivated areas.
