During the last years, the world faced numerous informational challenges in terms of economic, social, cultural and scientific dimensions.

What interested us in the academic higher educational dimension were the informational challenges that constituted with their various dimensions a necessity for universities to cope with technological progress via all its inputs, procedures and outputs at the moment where the present traditional system failed in confronting the challenges generated by the information and communication technology: the world has become a knowledge society.

The study of the present state of Algerian universities in terms of teaching information literacy and integrating modern techniques in the academic programs with their effects on the teaching staff constituted a real problem.

Our study attempted to identify the type of information literacy adopted by the University Constantine 2 via its programs and the modern technological means used to support these programs.

We adopted the case study approach in our study that was carried out at the University Constantine 2 precisely at the Institute of library and documentation science and the faculty of news technologies.

Our population of study consisted of a sample of university teachers.

We were able to obtain significant results that showed the important role played by the University Constantine 2 in teaching information literacy and in coping with technological progress.

Durant les dernières années, le monde a fait face à de multiples défis informationnels en termes de dimensions économiques, sociales, culturelles et scientifiques.

Ce qui nous intéressait dans la sphère académique de l'enseignement supérieur c'étaient les défis informationnels qui constituaient avec leurs dimensions diverses une nécessité pour les universités à s'adapter au progrès technologique à travers leurs 'inputs', procédures et 'outputs' au moment où le système traditionnel actuel ne réussissait plus à faire face aux défis générés par la technologie de l'information et de la communication: le monde est devenu une société du savoir.

L'étude de l'état des universités Algériennes en termes d'enseignement de culture de l'information et d'intégration de techniques modernes dans les programmes académiques avec leurs effets sur le corps enseignant constituaient une vraie problématique.

Notre étude a essayé d'identifier le type de culture de l'information adopté par l'Université Constantine 2 à travers ces programmes.

Nous avons adopté l'approche de l'étude de cas.

Notre enquête a été menée à l'Université Constantine 2 précisément à l'Institut de bibliothéconomie et au faculté de l'informatique.

La population d'étude consistait en un échantillon d'enseignants universitaires.

Nous avons pu obtenir des résultats assez significatifs démontrant le rôle important de cette université dans l'enseignement de la culture de l'information et son adaptation au progrès technologiques.
