الملخص EN

Lupus patients should avoid stress because physical or emotional stress can affect overall physical health.

It has been suggested that social support has a positive influence on health status, but there is a lack of information in the literature on the association between the two among lupus patients.

The current study investigated the association between social support and self-reported stress and coping status among African American women with lupus using data collected from two linked cross-sectional surveys.

No social support differences in groups of high and low stress/coping were revealed; a duplicate study with a larger sample size is required.
