The main objective of this study is to examine the relationship between the exchange rate and the competitiveness of food products exports from the euro area to Africa, using annual data for the period 2000-2015.
For this purpose, we use the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method to estimate the export equation and the effects of the exchange rate on Euro Zone exports to Africa.
Empirical results indicate that the change in the real effective exchange rate had a positive impact on these exports confirming the positive effects of the change in the exchange rate on exports and on the improvement of competitiveness.
الملخص FRE
L'objectif principal de notre article est d'examiner la relation entre le taux de change et la compétitivité des exportations de produits alimentaires de la zone euro vers l'Afrique, pour ce faire, nous avons collecté des données annuelles durant la période 2000-2015 pour construire un modèle empirique en utilisons la méthode OLS (Ordinary Least Squares) afin d'estimer l'équation des exportations et les effets du taux de change sur les exportations des produits alimentaires de la Zone Euro vers l'Afrique.
Les résultats empiriques indiquent que la variation du taux de change effectif réel a eu un impact positif sur ces exportations, confirmant les effets positifs de la variation du taux de change sur les exportations et sur l'amélioration de la compétitivité économique de la Zone.
