This report describes a case of acquired partial lipodystrophy in a 10-year-old male child, who has progressive isolated loss of facial fat of 3 years duration.

Associated low serum level of C3 complement may antedate the development of serious complications particularly glomerulonephritis.

The patient has withdrawn from peers and achieved poor school performance, secondary to his facial appearance
