This work presents a study of the electronic structure of F-center in the crystal of NaCl, CsCl and fluorite structure by using quantum dot model potential.

This model employs the semi-continuum method due to Simpson and specifies the F-center as a quantum dot partially confined within finite potential.

The energy levels and transition energy of the F- center are calculated analytically by using this new model potential and including the effect of continuum medium due to the coulomb tail and using the strong perturbation approach.-
