Solid phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction and sample preparation techniques for determination of organic pollutants

Trace enrichment of pesticides and herbicides components with different methoJs is stu¬died.

These methods are solid phase extraction with three different cartridges octadecyl Cjg (Supelco), Ci8 (Waters) and Caynopropyl (Waters) and liquid-liquid extraction with methylene chloride and kuderna Danish concentrator.

These methods were found to give a considerable quantitative percentage recoveries of N,N-di-n-propyl-S-ethyl thio carbamate (A), N-isopropyl-2- chloro- acetanilide (B), N-di-chloro acetyl-1- oxa- 4-azaspiro 4.5 decane (C), 2-chloro-4- ethyl amino-6- isopropyl amino-S- triazine (D) and N-ethoxy-methyl-2- ethyl-o- methyl-chloro acetanilide (E) fr6m industrial wastewater.

After extraction with suitable organic solvents these pollutants were determined using capillary column gas chromatography and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

The procedure has been applied to natural and industrial wastewater.
