Synthesis and characterization of polymeric crown ether for the separation of uranyl and zinc ions

Synthesis of novolic resin (1) from dibenzo -18 – crown -6 was carried out and characterized by spectroscopic technique .

Novolic resin was supported on polyurethane in order to prepare polymeric crown ether (2) for analytical studies.

The ability of polymeric crown ether for separation (UO22+ and Zn2+ ) was studied .

The effects of time of treatment and pH of medium on the loading capacity were studied .The conditions of regeneration ions from the loaded resin were determined .
