Synthesis of eugenol acetate and polyeugenol acetate and their biological activity

Eguenol monomer has unsaturated bond in its structure which con not be polymerized directly due to the phenolic group which inhibit the polymerization process .In this work we converted the phenolic group to acetate group (eugenol acetate) by new method , and then we polymerized eugnol acetate to polyeugenol acetate.

We examined the antimicrobial activity and we found that the new derivatives have a high activity agnist gram negative bacteria (Escherichia Coli )ATCC 25922and positive bacteria ( Staphylococcus aureus) ATTC 2593 using disc diffusion method.
