الملخص EN

The issue of women and the media has been for along time a subject of heated debate and controversy.

Over the years, women have suffered a score of industry.

Although women make up over 50 percent of the population and play an important role in society, their representation in the media has been biased, partial, and distorted.

This paper looks at women in the Arab media in two ways: 1) the images and portrayal of women, and 2) women as actors (journalists ) in the news organization .

As in other cultures and societies, the coverage of women and their problems and concerns in Arab media has been always characterized by bias, partiality, stereotypes , and marginalization.

As for journalism is dominated by males, as is the case in different countries.

Women practitioners do not exceed one fourth of the total number of journalists and do not hold leadership positions.
