The current study tackles how the perfect wife image can be perceived through feminism which is also related to Ibsenism in Henrik Ibsen›s A Doll’s House .The play shows the figure of a middle-class woman , who is after becoming a perfect wife, in the nineteenth century as it is portrayed in realistic modern drama which is headed , by the playwright , for women’s rights.

The study also sheds light on the social injustice that most of women used to suffer from.

The introduction deals with feminism as a movement and how it provoked society to restore women’s rights in an era was known for shrinking women’s role and picturing them not as wives or mothers but as dolls .

Thus , Ibsen is one of those who helped change that role positively.

The first section discusses Nora’s role as a wife suffers from her husband’s attitudes since he perceives her as a weak wife though she risks her life to save him and keep him alive .She tries hard to be a perfect wife but Torvald’s perspective of a perfect wife is based on weakening such role.

Simultaneously, he tries to un derestimate her as an irresponsible wife and mother.

Torvald’s attitude towards his wife reflects the feeble society’s judgment that views women like Nora as weak as possible.

At last , the study ends with the conclusion to sum up that Ibsen’s call concentrates on the endless search for the one’s self and the feminine identity of miserable wives in modern society.
