الملخص EN

The main purpose of this study was to determine the impact of project based learning on students’ critical reading and writing skills.

Questions formulated to fulfill the target of the study concentrated on.

(1) Determining critical reading and writing skills suitable for the EFL students.

(2) Verifying differences in both EFL students’ critical reading and writing performance test regarding experimental and control group.

Thirty nine EFL students constituted the sample for this study.

Five instruments -designed by the researcher- that include: (critical reading skills checklist, writing skills checklist, critical reading skills test, writing skills test and an analytic scoring rubric) were used for gathering data.

Results showed that the experimental group students outperformed their colleagues of the control group in EFL critical reading and writing performance test scores.

The effect of project based learning on students' critical reading and writing skills was significant.
