الملخص EN

Learning and teaching vocabulary are main challenges in EFL classrooms.

This study investigated the effectiveness of using three word strategies in improving vocabulary learning of primary stage pupils.

The strategies applied by student-teachers during practicum on 120 pupils in two EFL classrooms in two primary stage public schools were: word maps, word hunts, and word walls.

Investigating the performance level of the pupils and the opinions of the student-teachers after using the three strategies in the classroom indicated significant improvement in vocabulary learning/teaching processes.

Accordingly, it was concluded that these word strategies could be used by teachers in EFL classrooms for improving vocabulary learning.
