Impact du substrat phonétique de l’arabe L1 dans l’apprentissage du français LE : les problèmes d’ordre phonologiques

The study of the gap between performance and the norm cannot take into account the contrastive dimension of the relationship between mother tongue (MT) and foreign language (FL).

The role of the substrate of the L1 in the construction of the Cross-language is necessary if we want to determine the outlines of learning a target language, French in our case.

For this purpose, many variations from the norm must be taken into consideration, starting with the notable differences between the two systems, including the phonological issue.

This paper proposes to shed light on this aspect deeply debated by the national education in teaching French at the elementary school, but it strongly persists in advanced university studies
