Bilateral renal cortical necrosis (RCN) as a cause of acute kidney injury is very rare in the pediatric population.

Progression to end-stage renal disease is seen virtually in every patient with RCN.

There are many causes for the occurrence of cortical necrosis in children, with severe pancreatitis being a rarity.

In this report, we describe a child with severe acute pancreatitis complicated by bilateral RCN.
