الملخص EN

An experiment was designed to investigate the effect of restraint stress on the behavior and physiological alterations of the female albino rat.

For this purpose, 16 adult females rat average weight 150-160 g were allotted into two groups, restraint group 8 females’ restraint in a wire mesh one hour/day for 10 days and control group.

Behavior observation was assessed by observing rat day and night periods using infra-red camera by scanning observation.

A blood samples were collected during 1st, 3rd and 10th days of experiment for physiological and biochemical analysis.

Results revealed that restraint stress was strong stress as it decreases significantly feeding, drinking, exploration and walking activities, while increase significantly resting both (lying and standing idle) and body care behavior(licking).

However, increase significantly triglyceride, albumin, total lipids, cortisol and corticosteroids on the other hand decrease glucose and cholesterol level.
