Due to the proliferation of information available online and through digital devices, students' reading behaviours are increasingly changing from paper reading to reading on screen.

This paper aims to review current literature from a variety of disciplines on the effect of the digital age on students' deep reading skills.

It also aims to provide teachers with effective strategies to encourage and sustain students' deep reading in the online world.

Addressing the issue of deep reading in the digital age would deepen teachers' insights about the benefits and challenges of technology in the reading realm.
