The importance of research is evident in providing service to basketball at the required level through learning the performance of novice players and all their educational and skill specificity to implement some basic skills during performance on which the result of the game or game depends, as well as through his contribution to providing coaches with a generative learning strategy that may help them In increasing the knowledge and skill attainment of their players by working to involve players in generating new ideas based on their previous experiences, despite the importance of the basketball lesson in particular, similar to the remaining lessons of sports games, but it still suffers from many problems that have been shown.

Many obstacles, as many studies in teaching methods have confirmed that the Emirati method is the prevailing method of dealing, so it is possible that we work to pay attention to thinking processes in order to develop the personality of the learner in order to keep pace with the development taking place in modern life, hence the need to search for methods and strategies Teaching students achieve the goal far from the used methods, and the researcher believes that the generative learning strategy is one of the modern strategies Which has an effect in attracting the learner’s attention, so the researcher decided to show it in teaching basketball and measure its effect on learning skills within the research.

The research aimed at preparing educational units according to the generative learning strategy in cognitive achievement, learning the skill of chest handling with basketball for beginners, and identifying the impact of the generative learning strategy through educational units on cognitive achievement and learning the skill of chest handling with basketball for beginners, and the researcher followed the experimental approach to solve the research problem, The researcher selected the research sample from the junior players for Diyala and Baghdad schools, since the researcher is a resident of Diyala province, proximity and ease of communication and commitment with the research sample, so their number included (72) players who are committed in their attendance to the training units and by (75.18%), from the origin of the community, then the researcher By determining the two research groups, the experimental group included the players of the Specialized School in Diyala Governorate, their total number (34) players, and four players were excluded whose test scores were not calculated because they were from the exploratory sample, so the research sample remained (30) players, while the control group was also selected (30) One player out of (38) players being from the (8) pilot sample.
