This research aims mainly to display the role and importance of one of the basic issues in the banking sector, which is integration as one of the most important solutions that small and faltering financial institutions resort to face a set of challenges and financial crises that cast an over the work of these banks, which makes many financial institutions think seriously in The merger process and the formation of financial entities with great potentials capable of overcoming crises in a manner that is reflected in achieving the best financial returns and enhancing competitive position to achieve banking efficiency.

As two AL-khalijia banks were selected and the indicators of the (CAMELS) model were analyzed and used before and after the merger, as the research problem lies in explaining the role of the banking merger process in enhancing and raising banking efficiency, and these indicators of the efficiency index were analyzed, and the research concluded that mergers The research sample that took place among banks did not contribute to enhancing banking efficiency, on the basis of which the research hypothesis was rejected, and the paper also reached recommendations, the most important of which is that banks seek the research sample to maximize and diversify their financial investments in a way that contributes to maximizing their financial revenues
