The study highlights the repeated use of the veto by the United States for the sake of Israel and against any Arab decision since the creation of the United Nations (UN), in a bid to hamper any attempt to hold Israel responsibility for its countless crimes against the Palestinian people and the Arabs in general.

The excessive use of Veto by the permanent members of the UN’s Security Council, particularly the United States, has led to the crippling of the UN and to be away from the essential issues such as the Palestinian cause and the Israeli-Arab conflict.

The study concludes a set of results, the UN has held hostage to the United States’ hegemony that disrupted most of its decisions; therefore, the UN became, undoubtedly, under the control of the United States.

Moreover, the UN’s policy became more compatible with the United States’ biased policies towards Israel.

The study also recommends accelerating the reconstruction of the UN’s institutions, bodies and commissions; thereat it asserts the need to find new strong mechanisms to execute the UN’s resolutions over the international issues without double standards policies.
