الملخص EN

The main objective of this research is to monitor and analyze the past and current mental image features and characteristics of media colleges and departments in Yemeni public and private universities, which was formed among the students registered in it, and the relationship of this image to their attitudes towards these disciplines.

This research comes within the descriptive research, as the researcher used the questionnaire as a main tool in collecting data and information of the sample consisted of (200) students registered in the media major.

The study found a number of conclusions, most notably the existence of correlation between the mental image of the media specialization and the study sample attitudes towards this specialization.

The results also indicated that there are statistically significant differences between the mental image that the sample members had about the media major before registration and after joining it, as the mental image came to be more negative after their registration in media colleges and departments.

The results revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in the features of the mental image that were formed in the study sample in each of the public and private universities registered in this specialization.
