The proverbs are the best expressions of peoples' customs, traditions and morals.

it also represents the wisdom, history, life, and experiences of peoples, summarize the suffering and happiness.

from this standpoint, the current study attempts to analyze the significance of the content of the Somali examples of women, contained in the george dictionary, 1998 edition, to demonstrate their noble societal values, in order to highlight them and call for adherence to them, and take their contents as behavior.

the study uses the descriptive analytical approach, to present and classify proverbs semantically, and to analyze their contextual, cultural, environmental and circumstantial contents.

it has reached the most important conclusions: proverbs varied between proverbs were derived from Islamic culture, or congruent with her values, and another that is unique to the Somali society.

it expresses its cultural and environmental peculiarities.

proverbs affirmed society's recognition of the value of women, respect for their humanity, recognition of their competence, and appreciation of their efforts and their sublime role in society, whether she is a daughter, wife, mother or sister.
